A wee bit about us.. well....
We are a married couple in our early forties, we have 2 teenage children, our daughter
is 15 and our son is 13....
We have quite a few pets, who you will meet further on into our site....
Why townie smallholding you may ask ?
We decided to set up this website to chart and record our adventures in converting our reasonable
sized back garden into our own mini smallholding of sorts..
Our inspiration I guess came from 2 people..
Mr Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and Mr Jamie Oliver!
We watched Jamie's School Dinners, kids included and that was the turning point for us all I guess,
we decided from that time we really wanted to take an interest in what we were eating and also where our food came from, so
for the last couple of years everything we eat is made with fresh ingredients and also made from scratch and what a
difference it has made... life changing to say the least. so Jamie & Hugh if you ever come across my wee website "a HUGE
thankyou".
We love the River Cottage Series and the whole aspect of having a smallholding and a kinda self sufficient/organic
lifestyle..
Whilst we would love to have a proper smallholding....we cant afford one at the moment but
would never rule it out.. .. maybe one day.
So in the meantime we thought why dont we make do with what we have... and this is where our adventure
begins..........
